For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed—
II Corinthians 10:8 NKJV
The Apostle Paul had God-given authority over the believers in Corinth. He knew that authority was not given to him to tear them down but to build them up. It was given for their good, not for his good.
The aim of authority and leadership should always be to build others up. Too many misuse authority as a way to platform themselves and serve themselves. Each will give account to God.
Lord Jesus, You came not to be served but to serve. I will look for ways to practically serve others today. Amen.
