S // SCRIPTURE
Select a verse from today’s reading
2 Chronicles 21:20 (NKJV) He was thirty-two years old when he became king. He reigned in Jerusalem eight years and, to no one’s sorrow, departed. However they buried him in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
Jehoram was king of Israel. He had every opportunity to use his position and influence to make good decisions, honor the Lord and be a blessing to people. He didn’t. Instead of being a king that people loved, no one was sorry when he died. That’s pretty sad.
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
Kings are not the only ones who are given opportunity to make good decisions, honor the Lord and be a blessing to people. I am given those opportunities too. What do I do with mine?
I’ve heard it said that some people cause joy when they enter the room and some cause joy by leaving. I want to be the former.
P // PRAYER
Express yourself in prayer
Lord, Help me make the most of every opportunity to bring joy to others. Amen.
