SCRIPTURE:
And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”
Luke 23:2 NKJV
OBSERVATION:
The accusation they made against Jesus had no substantiation. In fact, He said they should render unto Caesar what was Caesar’s. They twisted the truth 180 degrees for this accusation.
APPLICATION:
We live in a day with baseless accusations. An accusation doesn’t have to be true to do damage.
The wise advice is more true today than ever: Don’t believe everything you hear. Even Pilate conducted his own investigation and dismissed the charges. In our day there is an abundance of accusations and untruths. Don’t get sucked in. Never pass on false accusations.
