“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”

I think both father and son had played this reunion out in their mind before it happened. They had imagined different outcomes.
We know the son’s imagination. He would try to convince his father to take him back. That’s not the version that plays out. The father’s version prevails.
I wonder how many times I resist doing something because I play it out in my head and don’t like what I imagine. The Father has a different plan. And His will prevail!
Don’t let imagination and fear overcome obedience and faith. Don't give imagination the final word. Take the steps. You may be amazed at the outcome.
Jesus, Thank You for reminding me that imagination is imperfect. I trust You. Amen.
