Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text

It is said, “Nothing lasts forever”. Fashions and fads fade quickly. Things built eventually decay, erode and fall apart. Civilizations and world powers shift over time. We see this truth all around us. Coins and currency are changed out.

There is one thing that does not erode, corrode, break down or fall apart. That is the Word of God revealing His plans, purposes and truth. It is just as fresh and powerful today as it was thousands of years ago.

A // APPLICATION

How can I apply this to my life today?

There is no greater long term investment I can make than investment in God’s Word. Not only does it reveal wisdom for day to day living, but it reveals things yet to come. Even things about the end. Only God’s Word can do that with accuracy and authority.

God hasn’t changed His mind. His plan in the garden of Eden is still His plan today. He hasn’t been swayed by politicians, pundits or philosophers. No one has come up with a better plan. He is still on Plan A.

That’s good news and gives me great comfort for the future.

Express yourself in prayer

Father, Your plan is my joy and my delight. I want to know it more and I want to know You more. Reveal Yourself to me through Your Word. Amen!
