O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
In these poetic verses penned by the psalmist David, he rehearses things that he has experienced about God and who He is. He calls Him by different names created just for this occasion.
He calls God: You who hear prayer; You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth; and You who still the noise.
These are beautiful and meaningful names, personalized by David’s own experience with the Lord.
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
“You who…” You used to get someone’s attention by saying, “Yoo-hoo”! That’s what these verses remind me of.
If I were to give God a name based on my own experience with Him and beginning with the words “You who…”, what might that name be?
You who are with me today…
You who have given me an amazing family…
You who hold the future in Your strong hands…
You who has graciously called me into ministry…
You who give me what I need every single day…
You who paid for my eternity with Your own life…
You who grant me peace in turbulent times…
Yoo-hoo God! You are amazing!!
