“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!”
James 5:1 NKJV
James did not go easy on the rich. This is just the beginning of a pretty scathing passage where James pulls no punches.
If riches and comfort in this life means less fruitfulness in eternity, would I choose it? If discomfort and poverty in this life means greater fruitfulness in eternity, would I be okay with that?
The pull of riches and comfort here is strong. I have seen much greater pursuit of riches and comfort than I have see pursuit of godliness.
Be wise. Be careful. Think eternally.
