Who Am I?

Writer's picture: Pastor JimPastor Jim

And they said, “An Egyptian delivered us from the hand of the shepherds, and he also drew enough water for us and watered the flock.”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭2‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When the daughters of Ruel reported the incident to their father, they referred to Moses as ‘an Egyptian’. Obviously, they didn’t ask him. They just made an observation from his appearance. He sure looked and acted like an Egyptian to them.

Moses had been living like royalty in the land of Egypt. The culture, customs, dress and speech of Egypt had been a great influence to him. He picked up the traits of his culture.

Like Moses, I am also being affected by the culture around me. Watch out! This is not my real home. Don’t become so conformed to this way of living, talking and thinking that you become unrecognizable as a citizen of heaven.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
