REFLECT // MEDITATIO
Now direct your focus on the words, phrases concepts or sentences that got your attention. What is God speaking to you today through His word?
Psalm 13:6 I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.
In this short psalm of six verses, the phrase ‘how long’ is used four times. David doesn’t like the current situation and is growing impatient for it to change. That’s just how many of us feel today in this COVID19 stay-at-home order. How long, Lord? When will it be over? Like David, I am also growing impatient. What does David do during this time of waiting in a difficult situation? He worships. Worship isn’t withheld until everything goes your way. Worship is constant. Worship is life-giving. Worship while you wait.
RESPOND // ORATIO
Pray in response to what the Lord has spoken to you.
Jesus, I worship You today. As David said, You have dealt bountifully with me. You are just as worthy of praise today as You have ever been. PRAISE YOUR HOLY NAME!
Tomorrow’s reading -> Sunday Reflection. Reflect on all God has been saying to you this week.
I love "worship while you wait." I don't have any answers or timeline, but I know what to do in the meantime. Worship and trust. Always the right response.
