Yes Dad

SCRIPTURE:

“Also the swine is unclean for you, because it has cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud; you shall not eat their flesh or touch their dead carcasses.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭14:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

OBSERVATION:

Many of the Lord’s commandments to His people deal with dietary restrictions. They were known by it. Everyone knows Jews couldn’t eat pork. As we have advanced medically we now see those things which seemed randomly restrictive were actually medically sound. Pork was very risky to eat for a nomadic people. These things were protective, not restrictive.

APPLICATION:

Whenever God gives a restriction He is being protective. In other words, obedience to Him is for my own good in every case. He is not being demanding or cruel or capricious. He is being Fatherly.

PRAYER:

Father, I can trust Your care for me in every circumstance. I trust You today. Amen.
